Are all parasites “gross” and bad? How many parasites are out there? Why are parasitologists so crazy about parasites?
Join the free UN Parasite Biodiversity Day Presentations online 14 & 15 October from 6-10pm MST.
In celebration of U.N. Biodiversity Conference COP 15, Global Parasitologist Coalition presents this eight-session event covering parasites from all kinds of hosts including insects, whales, bats, kangaroos, and human beings! An exclusive interview with parasitologists from around the world, a panel discussion on conserving parasite biodiversity, and a parasite and art section, offer the opportunities to explore different aspects of parasites. At this Parasite Biodiversity Day Event you will find out why parasites are “awesome” creatures with huge biodiversity as we take a closer look at them. These almost-invisible creatures influence many areas including agriculture, economics, and public health, yet often being neglected. While presenting our own studies of parasites, we also want to reveal to you how diverse and important the parasites are — on the conservation of the parasites themselves and to their diverse host taxa including humans.
Come & join the parasitologists worldwide to learn more about the biodiversity of these astonishing parasites and what’s behind the scenes! Visit www.globalpc.org or scan the QR code to register for the events for free!
